Accommodation Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Policy

  1. Notification of cancellation or withdrawal from Homestay or a program must be made in writing to Talkabout Tours Australia prior to the commencement of Homestay
  2. Application/ Accommodation Placement fees are not refundable.
  3. Cancellation in writing at least 4 weeks before the student’s original program start date attracts a full refund of fees paid except as in 2 above. Talkabout Tours agrees to refund the balance within 28 days.

  4. Cancellation in writing less than 4 weeks before the student’s original Homestay start date attracts a refund except as in 2 above and less $50 cancellation fee. Talkabout Tours agrees to refund the balance within 28 days.

  5. Cancellation in writing under 7 days from Homestay start date attracts a refund except as in 2 above and less $50 cancellation fee and one week’s Homestay Fee. Talkabout Tours agrees to refund the balance within 28 days.

  6. If you notify us of your intention to withdraw before your original start date and are eligible for a refund as per 4 and 5 above, then the refund will be paid to you within four weeks of Talkabout Tours receiving your notification of withdrawal.

  7. In the case of visa refusal, a refund will be given up to the original program start date as long as written proof is presented, minus the application fee.

  8. 2 weeks Homestay payments will be forfeited from students who are removed from their Homestay for unacceptable behaviour or non-compliance with visa conditions.

  9. It is a requirement that the Placement/Application fee is paid upon application and is necessary before placement can be made. The balance of fees are be paid in full 3 weeks before commencement of Homestay, failure to do so will result in a cancellation of Homestay..

  10. In the case of a student needing to return home urgently, the Host Family is entitled to 2 weeks Homestay fees. The balance is fully refundable.

  11. Any refund will be paid to the person or entity that originally paid the Homestay fees and, where possible, in the same currency in which the fees were paid.

  12. If you arrange airport pick up and do not use this service, the fee is non-refundable.
Notes
  1. Two week’s written notice is required if you wish to leave your homestay.

  2. Two week minimum booking (except under special circumstances such as a Study Tour.) There is no refund if you leave your homestay before this.

  3. No additional placement fee will be charged if Talkabout Tours agrees that your Homestay is unable to provide a satisfactory environment.

  4. If you require a new Homestay after your requested period of stay has finished, you will be liable for a 2nd placement fee.
Liability
  1. All care will be taken; however, Talkabout Tours Australia, its directors and appointed agents shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, accident, delay or expense resulting from participation in any of its airport transportation or accommodation arrangements.

  2. Talkabout Tours Australia, its directors and appointed agents are not responsible for any financial obligations or liabilities that a student may personally incur or any damage or injury to the person or property of others that the student may cause while living in a Talkabout Tours Australia appointed Homestay

  3. Talkabout Tours Australia, its directors and appointed agents shall not be held responsible for injury or less suffered by the student during periods of independent travel or absence from the enrolled course.

  4. A students participation in the Talkabout Tours accommodation program may be terminated at the discretion of Talkabout Tours, its directors and agents without refund of fees in cases of serious misconduct or non-abidance of Australian laws.
Security
  1. It should be noted that e-mails and other information you send to us is not encrypted and cannot be considered a secure means of transmitting sensitive information. Talkabout Tours will never ask you to submit your financial data such as your credit card account numbers, via e-mail. You should be aware of the limitations of security, authentication, encryption, and privacy measures used in connection with the Internet and that any information you transmit through the Sites may be damaged, corrupted, "sniffed" and/or accessed by another person without your permission.

  2. Regardless of the precautions taken by you or by us, "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet. We cannot ensure or warrant the ultimate security of any information you transmit.

  3. We do NOT store credit card numbers in our database, nor is the credit card number stored at any point on our server, your payments are processed using ANZ's secure site. Please click here to review their privacy and security policies.
